It's Friday Again...

Weight: 320.4
Total Weight loss: 16.2 pounds

Well, I'm up 2.2 pounds from last week.

Things are on hold, I guess. I don't know. I'll continue to report here, and hopefully one of these days soon my switch will turn back on.

Wait, here is a question I hope each one of you will take a moment to answer:

What would you do if you were me right now?

  1. Are you journaling? Have you tried sparkpeople? I've found that while on a plateau those things usually help me. Which reminds me - I need to do both those SOON!
Don't get down, just keep working at it. You've made amazing progress and a plateau is to be expected.

  2. Everyone in the blogosphere seems to be stuck right now! I know I am... Can't seem to get back on the healthy living bandwagon just yet. Waiting for summer to be over maybe?
Love to you, stick with it.

  3. Hmm. What would I do if I were you? Depends on what you're doing. Do you know what your BMR is (the amount of calories your burn @ the bare minimum?) Are you tracking your calories? And being honest? And meticulous? Are you creating a high enough calorie deficit? I would take a look at the numbers, do a little math, and adjust as needed.

I would never ever give up. You can do it!

  4. Tough one. The drive to succeed requires that internal switch, that inner something that motivates us to do the things we need to do to lose weight. You've got a lot of those things going right for you already. The only thing I can think of is to be more diligent in monitoring your intake and perhaps pick up the exercise a bit. OH, and don't forget to give yourself credit for the things you're doing WELL! :)

  5. I would do the following:

Revisit my list (whether it's in writing or just in my head) of all the reasons I want/need to lose weight. Spend some time dwelling on the things that suck about being obese. Really internalize the fact that neither being obese nor losing weight are easy . . . I just have to choose my hard. Reread this amazing post for some extra motivation . . . http://foodaddict-fromfattofab.blogspot.com/2009/08/make-your-choice.html

Remind myself of what I need to do to continue to make progress toward my goal . . . for me this is journaling everything I eat and exercising regularly. Give myself permission to move towards that goal more slowly for a period of time . . . for me, this means accepting a smaller average daily calorie deficit and smaller weekly losses in exchange for a more generous calorie budget. Do NOT give myself permission to stand still or move further away from my goal.

You CAN do this, Amy . . . remember how great it felt to be at your lowest weight last year? You can get there again by the end of this year, and I'll be rooting you on all the way.

  6. I would hang on to my goals and lifestyle for dear life...and exercise, and continue to eat properly. I know you do these things. I started in Jan 08 around when you did, and I have had to 'hang on'. Keep on pluggin' away, eh?

I also know that when you jog or walk it helps your whole psyche & outlook. I think you have written that. It is that way for me too.

Fill your mind w/reading other ppls blogs, etc. (whatever encourages you.) I personally feel empowered & encouraged when I watch the Today show Joy Fit Club online about ppl who have lost.

Don't gain, and keep tryin to lose, and move forward, babe! Yes, our journey may be slower than it is for some ppl, but it is a lifestle, and we'll get there!
    hugs,Chrissy
